I am so so so grateful I found Justin and Jocelyn! They are incredible humans, SMP artists, and I truly could not recommend them enough. My only regret is not starting SMP with them sooner. They listened to my fears, concerns, and goals and made me feel at ease and heard every step of the process. They are honest, genuine, and extremely skilled at their craft. I honestly looked forward to my sessions and felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I am so pleased with my results!

Just do this! I hesitated too long to pull the trigger and get this done. I was fortunate to find the amazing team, Jocelyn and Justin at SMP Portland and I'm thrilled with my results. Some of my main concerns were, will it look natural and what will it look like when my gray grows out? I’ve found it completely fills in the empty space, blending flawlessly. This process has camouflage my gray, so fewer touch-ups. Before SMP when my gray grew in, with my pale scalp and brown hair color my hair loss was much more noticeable. Another concern was if it would hurt, and it didn’t at all, really painless and the instant results blew me away! I can’t say enough great things about Jocelyn, who is so sweet and immediately put me at ease, answered all my questions, making me feel as comfortable as possible. You can't go wrong if you go with SMP Portland!

I cannot recommend Jocelyn enough!!! I've had thinning around the hairline and part and have tried hair powders, microneedling, oils and serums. Nothing has done what SMP has. It looks so natural and has helped so much with an insecurty I've been dealing with for years. Jocelyn (and Justin) are knowledgeable and so dedicated to the getting the perfect result. Also doesn't hurt that they're both super personable and like to have fun while they're getting the job done!

If you’re considering scalp micro-pigmentation, Justin is YOUR GUY! I found him on Google one day and thought I’d reach out for a consultation. After meeting with him once, I knew he was an expert. He gave me an honest assessment of my hair, and provided solutions on how we could improve it. The transition from having a hair to being buzzed was a rollercoaster. Luckily, Justin had my back the entire time. The treatments were comfortable and easy. He was clear with follow up care, next steps, and was always punctual and communicative. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, if you’re considering scalp micro-pigmentation, Justin is YOUR GUY. I’d highly recommend him.

If you're even considering getting an SMP procedure done, my suggestion is to not hesitate any longer and go get it done here. Justin is a Michelangelo of his craft, which has been personally evidenced by my own relatives (and even a former hair stylist) telling me that I should grow my hair out. Justin is one of the most courteous people you will come across. Absolutely no regrets on my part. EDIT: I went in for a touch up after 3 years and my experience with Justin was at least as good as before, if not better. I am absolutely thrilled with the work that was done and couldn't recommend it more. As I said in my first review, if you have been thinking about getting SMP done, this is the place for sure!

If your looking for relief, self confidence, a positive outlook on life, a youthful look, this would be the best investment you can do for yourself. I have been researching SMP for about 2 years. I found out that my best friend from middle school was dealing with Alopecia (same as me) and he had gotten SMP done on him and told me that it will change my life for the better. Small world, right! If you are dealing with Alopecia, male pattern baldness, thinning hair etc... SMP can definitely be that great source for you. I found Justin from googling "nearest SMP near me" here in Oregon, scheduled a consultation and began my journey. In my consultation, Justin provided a safe space for me to be vulnerable to hear my struggle with Alopecia and what my desired look and goal was for the end results of this process. Jusyin would use a white chalk while consulting with you on what desired hair line you envisioned for yourself, what areas on my head i think need the most attention and how much density i wanted to go. My main goal was that i wanted it to look as natural as possible. I had a lot of questions for Justin during my consultation and he was able to answer them genuinely w/o word searching. The reason I decided to move forward with this process was to simply stop wearing hats everyday, to revive my confidence that I once had and the cost was reasonable and becuase of how much knoweldge and passion that Justin has for his clients. For my journey with SMP, I had three sessions. Within each session, I had 2 weeks for recovery. This wasn't by any means a "serious" recovery. I was still able to work and do other daily activities that is in my routine. My head was never in pain. Before each of my sessions, Justin would seat me in a chair in front of a mirror, shave my head (Andis clippers), use the white chalk (for marking purposes) and consult with me where he thinks certain areas of my head needs attention and ask me what I would think based on his recommendation. Justin knows what he is doing so sometimes his recommendations are better than your own ideas. Just sayin! He doesn't do anything without your input or agreement! As long as you are on the same page, everything will go great. After each session, I was not allowed to wash my head for the next 3 days and I had avoid severe sweating (which might be a standard recommendation for any client). I am an active person so that was a bit difficult thing for me to control but i found alternatives. After my first session, Justin provided me with a special soap that i could use, once 3 days had passed. Trust me, after the 3rd day, your scalp is going to be thanking you for the wash. I was looking forward to that wash after each session. After the wash, it looked like the ink was fading but that is all a part of the process. Now that my sessions are complete, I can honestly say, that I am happy. I am confident. I look forward leaving my house and not grabbing a hat. I love taking pictures with friends and not feeling insecure. The photo of me in the black jacket was session 1, me with my eyes closed was session 2, and the one with me smiling was session 3. Make the investment in yourself, you won't regret it!
